Consumables: cleansing, resistance and preparation

Guide editor: GAME NOTE

GAME NOTE CLASSIC · GUIDE LIBRARYThe First Berserker: Khazan

Progression, practical choices and current mode rules.

Prepare four roles

  • Separate health recovery, combat-resource recovery, relevant cleanses and resistance or enhancement items. Put what this mission needs on shortcuts.

  • After buying or crafting, check shortcuts and inventory. Shortcut refilling at a Nexus does not generate unlimited consumables; distinguish stored items from charged healing supplies.

Recovery and resources

  • Willpower Orb spends Spirit; decide whether that leaves enough for your defensive or offensive skill.

  • Recovery actions need safe openings. Being far from a boss is not safe if a projectile sequence is still active.

Cleansing versus resistance

  • A cleanse treats an active ailment; resistance items and accessories address the corresponding threat. Similar names do not make them interchangeable.

  • Identify the ailment before using an item. Even Special Cleanse is not a promise to remove every environmental or story restriction.

CleanseAilment
Fire Cleanse PotionFlame / burn
Water Cleanse PotionFrost / frostbite
Lightning Cleanse PotionShock / paralysis
Earth Cleanse PotionSluggishness / petrification
Poison Cleanse PotionPoison / severe poison
Plague Cleanse PotionPlague
Hallucination Cleanse PotionHallucination
Chaos Cleanse PotionChaos
Special Cleanse PotionMultiple elemental ailments

Enhancements and throwables

  • Fire, Water, Lightning, Earth and Poison enhancers apply a matching weapon attribute. Spirit fuels and concentrated essences are thrown items, not the same weapon enchantment.

  • Check Daphrona’s Codex before choosing an element. Do not spend materials based solely on color against a resistant or immune target.

  • Cleanses, resistance and enhancements have separate roles and do not remove the need to evade or counter dangerous attacks.

Crafting and recipe routes

  • After unlocking the blacksmith, select the consumables category. Transmutation Shards are generic consumable materials; Spirit Orbs support elemental items, Inner Essence supports combat resources, and Transmutation Mist supports special recipes.

  • Recipes come from pickups and Codex challenges. If crafting is unavailable, inspect the recipe before materials and Gold rather than assuming every item is craftable from the start.

  • The links below reach recorded cleanse and enhancer scroll locations. Missing entries do not imply that a recipe does not exist.

Exploration and recovery tools

  • Returning to a Nexus, leaving a mission, recovering lost Lacrima and resetting attributes are different actions. Read the confirmation before using an item.

  • For the lantern’s purchase and use, consult Danjin and Jar Enthusiast.

Boss-oriented shortcuts

  • For Aratra, prepare healing, poison cleansing and resistance. For Rangkus, consider fire threats; Shactuka, plague; Ozma, chaos and endurance across a longer fight.

  • Keep a small familiar selection on shortcuts. After a failed attempt, distinguish missing cleansing, resistance, stamina and a safe item-use window.
