Skill selection and resets

Distinguish weapon-specific skills from shared abilities. Check prerequisite links, level requirements, points and gear-granted effects separately; a move supplied by equipment is not necessarily permanently learned.

  • Practise stopping a basic string safely before extending it with Blazing Assault. Inspect Whirlwind and pursuit options as your available points grow.

Skill reset

Skill points can be reset and reassigned at any time.

  • The official store description says skill points can be reset and reassigned at any time and from anywhere.

Recovering Lacrima

Return to the place of death to recover lost Lacrima.

  • After death, returning to the defeat location can recover lost Lacrima for progression.

Phantom Form

Defeating enemies and using specific attacks and skills builds the transformation gauge.

  • The official story page names enemy defeats, Brutal Attacks and Spirit skills as gauge sources.
  • At a full gauge, Khazan can transform for a limited time; damage taken then drains the Phantom Form gauge rather than health.

Build directions for all three weapons

Identify whether the issue is damage, stamina, defensive timing or overcommitting. Stats, gear and skills solve different problems.

  • Early: use short strings and leave stamina for evasive movement. Invest in moves you can reliably connect.

Ultimate Challenge: modes and rewards

Finish the game once, then enter Ultimate Challenge from the title screen. It uses mode-provided progression and equipment, with no Phantom companions or Mastery gain.

  • Unlock five groups in sequence: Tides of Ruin, Earthshaking Roar, Unyielding Foes, Corruptors and Nightmare of Chaos. Levels, gear and resources are provided.

Skill progression: mastery, prerequisites and priorities

Character attributes, Mastery, prerequisite nodes and set-granted moves are different requirements. Attribute levels do not necessarily unlock a skill, and a set-granted move does not unlock its whole branch.

  • After the Chapter 2 skill-tree introduction, choose your current weapon. For a locked node, check Mastery and prerequisites before points. For an unusable learned skill, check activation conditions and Skill Management.

All eight phantoms: abilities, growth and relics

Phantom abilities are equipped passive companions that grow with use. Phantom Form is a gauge transformation; Spirit of Advocacy is the golden boss assistance summon.

  • After Stormpass’ Phantom of Combat, open the abilities menu at a Blade Nexus and select a companion. Unlocking one does not automatically equip it.

Consumables: cleansing, resistance and preparation

Separate health recovery, combat-resource recovery, relevant cleanses and resistance or enhancement items. Put what this mission needs on shortcuts.

  • After buying or crafting, check shortcuts and inventory. Shortcut refilling at a Nexus does not generate unlimited consumables; distinguish stored items from charged healing supplies.
