Our take
Traversal is packed with spikes, saw blades and precision-platforming challenges. Change the visuals and characters, and it could easily bring Hollow Knight to mind. Many walls that change with different states are familiar tricks from other platformers, too. Add the highly aggressive enemies along the way, and it starts to feel like Dead Cells. Smaller details such as skills and equipment also draw on mechanics common in popular games. For me, its biggest problem is that, as a new Castlevania, it may differ from earlier Castlevania games, but its gameplay does not feel particularly new.
It has everything except Castlevania.
